Get real scrammed-brain, when a few billionaires can flood a district with ads attacking someone and make the person come off just slightly better than your average child molester, yeah that was gonna make a huge difference in the results in Tuesday's vote.

Political consultant DL presumably is not a naive fool and knows the impact of flooding such emotional literature in a small district so presumably it was no "stunner" to him - he's just revealing his biases and who he wants business from in the future.

What really would have been a stunner is for a person with nothing close to the financial assets as the billionaire bullies to counter such an attack and who was barely an incumbent to survive such an attack.

If Mar had voted in favor of Ross, the billionaire bullies would have made him out to look like almost a child molestor too. It might not have worked as well since he was a full incumbent (served the whole term) and had more financial resources but it def would have made some difference in the outcome (tho not nec enough to chg the outcome).

Hey scram-brain, what you're really cheering for is the billionaire bullies to be able to control your city govt and who gets elected and not - sounds like you love authority figures so they can do your thinking for them - and you can kiss their ass so maybe they'd like you. It's been incredibly destructive to the progressive movement spending the past 11 months of endless chatter here and on sfgate trying to defend a politician who wasn't very defensible. A recall campaign will mean another year of bad publicity and empty rhetoric and further destroy the reputation of many people who have been associated with the progressive movement in SF. All because a politician helped run a couple of public power campaigns for the Bay Guardian, even though he really wasn't very well respected by some segments of the progressive movement. I hope it was worth it, GUYS.

Peskin was right. Mirkarimi should have resigned and got his life together before trying to bounce back. Instead, he has forced the spotlight onto himself and his family issues, dominating the news and preventing progressive ideas and programs from being discussed. Based on his refusal to resign he's taken out a decent D5 supervsior (although I think Mirkarimi supported Breed so he got his wish there), and now he threatens to derail the very promising political career of Jane Kim, who better team up fast with Andea Shorter and Ed Lee on the recall campaign if she doesn't want to suffer the same fate as Olague in two years. Even the two most solid current progressive leaders - Avalos and Campos - will feel the affects from their vote if they want to have any future with Bay Area politics or careers that intersect with local politics.

Avalos, Campos, Mar, Kim, and even Chiu and Olague represent an array of political leaders that could help build on a solid progressive movement in SF, but instead the progressives are demoralized and in a shambles because the Bay Guardian's most-favored politician is so self-centered and uncaring about a larger political movement beyond his own paycheck and lucrative pension. Maybe politicians like Mirkarimi really are different - they just don't care about other people. Sociopathic I think it's called.

Willie Brown and Ed Lee couldn't have found a more perfect poster boy for everything that is wrong with many SF progressives - arrogant, tone-deaf, dominating male womanizer.
